Tinubu’s reforms will outweigh hardship -Group

Agency Report

A political support group, No Alternative To Tinubu/Shettima 2023, has assured Nigerians that the benefits of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s reforms will surpass the current hardship.

The group’s National Coordinator, Mr Vincent Uba, made this assurance in an open letter to Nigerians on Thursday in Abuja.

Uba acknowledged that the reform policies’ pains are excruciating but emphasised that the eventual benefits would be greater and long-lasting.

He likened the present situation to a pregnant woman’s labour pains, which disappeared upon hearing her baby’s cry, and the discomfort of renovating a building with a leaking roof.

Uba urged Nigerians to show understanding and rally around the president, refraining from cursing and abusing him.

He reminded them of the Israelites’ wilderness journey to the Promised Land, similar to Nigeria’s current experience under the guidance of the current administration.

Uba noted that economic hardship is not peculiar to Nigeria, as the world faces multidimensional crises.

He cited examples of Venezuela, Sudan, Haiti, Kenya, and European countries facing challenges. Even the U.S., a global superpower, was experiencing economic difficulties.

Uba commended Tinubu’s courage in addressing long-term problems, implementing policies like student loan schemes, regional development commissions, and coastal road construction, rail transport revamping, and fighting corruption.

He also praised Tinubu’s approval of a N70,000 minimum wage and distribution of palliatives.

Uba urged Nigerians to change their attitudes towards leadership, examining actions rather than blaming and cursing.

He reminded them of the Bible’s recommendation to pray for leaders and government authorities, emphasising the importance of clean hands when seeking equity.(https://newsatlarge.ng)
