2027:Yari leads APC Chieftains, PCC members to meet with Northern Muslim Clerics

Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has led a delegation of the party’s chieftains to meet with Muslim clerics in some states in the North-Central, North-East and North-West.

This, is part of consultations with faith based stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming 2027 generation elections.

The engagements which started on Monday in Jos, Plateau, took Yari and his team to Kaduna, Kano and Bauchi States where they met with Muslim clerics and leaders of the Izala, Tijjaniyya, JIBWIS and Qadiriyya sects.

Yari, a former Governor of Zamfara was accompanied on the trip by former governor of Kano State and a former National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and former Kebbi Governor, Sen. Adamu Aliero.

Also on his team, were a former governor of Borno, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff and National Secretary of the APC, Sen. Ajibola Basiru among others.

On arrival in Jos, Sen. Yari and his team were received by Chairman of the Council of Ulama of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.

In Bauchi, the team was received by Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi, Khalifa of the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Zawiya, who prayed for President Bola Tinubu.

He also called for a sustained dialogue between the state and the religious community beyond election periods.

Yari and his team in Kaduna, met with Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, National Chairman of Kaduna faction of JIBWIS and deliberated on various national issues bordering on security and economic.

They also deliberated on how to sustain mutual trust in communities where different ethnic nationalities coexisted.

The consultations were concluded in Kano where Yari and his team met with the leader of the Qadiriyya movement, Sheikh Qaribullahi Nasiru Kabara, who offered special prayers for peace in Nigeria and for the success of the assignment of the PCC.

He urged the delegation to carry the message of unity to every part of the country.
