condoles Yari over aunt’s death, as APC, NDC, ADC chieftains storm Zamfara

The Federal Government has condoled with Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, Director- General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council over the death of his maternal aunt, Hajiya Rukiya Jibril.

Sen. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) had on Thursday, led a Federal Government delegation to Talata Mafara in Zamfara to commiserate Yari over the death of Jibril.

The deceased was the immediate younger sister of Yari’s mother.

Akume while delivering a condolence message from President Bola Tinubu, told Yari and members of his family that they were not alone in their moment of grief.

He described death as a transition and a return to Allah, taking place according to His divine will and wisdom.

He encouraged the bereaved family to draw strength from their faith and the knowledge that the deceased had completed her earthly journey and returned to her creator.

He prayed for the forgiveness of her sins, the acceptance of her good deeds and the granting of Allah’s infinite mercy upon her soul, expressing hope that Allah would grant her a place among the righteous.

Yari, also a former governor of Zamfara in his response, expressed gratitude to Tinubu for the gesture of compassion and solidarity extended to him and his family.

He also thanked the SGF and members of the delegation for making the journey to Talata Mafara to personally honour the deceased and stand with the family during their period of mourning.

Yari described the visit as a great source of comfort, encouragement and strength to him and the entire family.

He prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and blessings upon the SGF, the members of the delegation, President Tinubu and the Federal Government.

He also appealed to Nigerians to remember his late maternal aunt in their prayers and to pray for Allah’s forgiveness, mercy and peaceful repose for her soul.

According to the statement, others on the delegation were Niger Governor, Umar Bago, APC National Secretary, Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, former Imo, Sen. Rochas Okorocha and former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje amongst others.

Opposition parties figures in attendance were former Sokoto State Governor, Sen. Aminu Tambuwal accompanied by Sen. Abdul Ningi who represented the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Sen. Tony Nwoye led members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on the condolence visit.
