PGF says Jigawa and Osun Govs are models of Nigeria’s progressive

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has described Gov. Muhammad Abubakar, of Jigawa and his counterpart,Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun as models of Nigeria’s progressive politics.
Gov. Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi and Chairman of the PGF said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja while felicitating the governors on the occasion of their birthday.
“The PGF joins Muhammad Abubakar, Governor of Jigawa and Gboyega Oyetola, Governor of Osun to celebrate their 59th and 67th birthday respectively.
“Along with the people of Jigawa and Osun States, and all Nigerians, we celebrate this special occasion with models of Nigeria’s progressive politics and their families.
“On this special day, we wish to acknowledge and commend their leadership, visions and commitments to a united and prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
Bagudu noted that guided by the APC, the two governors had been consistent and selfless contributors to the PGF.
According to him, the governors had provided insightful and resolute inputs to the processes of managing governance in Jigawa and Osun States respectively as well as at the national level.
He said as governors of Jigawa and Osun States, through all the development initiatives being implemented by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led governments, the two governors represented the shining light of politics.
“As we rejoice with the governors, we also reaffirm our collective decision to continue to implement programmes that strengthen the capacities of our progressive states to create jobs, stimulate economic activity, reduce inequality and diminish poverty in Nigeria,” he said.
The PGF is an umbrella body of all serving governors elected on the APC platform.
