Group appeals to Tinubu to appoint passionate, vibrant youth as Youth Minister
Agency report
The BAT Vanguard, a support group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to consider appointing a vibrant youth with passion to impact and deliver as the Minister of Youth.
The group made the call in a statement on Friday in Abuja, adding that the country needed the right persons to serve in all aspects for effective deliverance of true democracy dividends and the Renewed Hope mandate.
The statement which was signed by Tobi Olatunya, said BAT was one of the most vocal and prominent support groups for the actualisation of President Tinubu Renewed Hope mandate.
According to him, BAT has presence in the 36 states of the federation, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and in the Diaspora.
He noted that political appointments was determined by regional and ethnic balancing and the contributions of potential appointees and individuals to the electioneering campaigns and eventual success of a political party.
He said Mr Sola Olofin, BAT National Coordinator was one such individual, adding that he was a dyed-in-the-wool party man.
Olatunya described Olofin as an unapologetic Tinubu’s loyalist from Ekiti State who deserved to be considered for appointment as a Minister because he worked for the party.
“Olofin is an ICT person with a thriving business and twice contested for Federal House of Representatives from Ado Ekiti, but was prevailed by party leaders to step down.
“This, he did without much qualms owing to his antecedent as a core party man. To say he is a grassroots politician who is very much in touch with the youth cannot be over emphasised,” Olatunya said.(https://newsatlarge.ng)
