APC more united, popular to deliver Kano in 2027- Chairman
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, has said that contrary to reports, the party was now more united and popular in the state than before.
Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the state Chairman of the party, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
Abbas, who said that the party would deliver the state in the 2027 general elections, was responding to comments credited to Hashimu Dungurawa, state Chairman of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).
Dungurawa in a statement alleged that the lingering emirship tussle in Kano may negatively work against Tinubu’s 2027 second term presidential bid.
Abbas, however, said that Dungurawa’s claims were an indication of his party’s frustration in the state and the nation’s political scene.
He described as embarrassing, the crisis rocking the factionalised opposition NNPP and its leader in Kano State, saying it was a crisis of confidence.
According to him, the presidential debut of NNPP’s leader in 2023 was deliberately intended to test his national outlook and make him remain relevant in the scheme of things.
He expressed optimism that contrary to insinuations by the NNPP leadership and their antics, President Bola Tinubu would be re-elected in 2027.
“The APC in Kano State is now more united and popular and will deliver triple of what it got in the 2023 presidential election in the state” he said.
Abbas explained that the interest of the Tinubu-led Federal Government in the lingering Kano emirate crisis was to ensure that the rule of law prevailed in the state.
He added that the government’s desire was to ensure peace and tranquility in the state.
“It is a public knowledge that while other state Governors were inaugurating one project or the other to mark their one year in office.
“The NNPP-led Kano State Government was busy distracting the good people of Kano from his obvious failures through the contentious emirate law as a tactic from his inadequacies in office.
“We are using this medium to assure our able and capable president, including the party’s national leadership, that Kano State APC is now more united.
“We are now more popular and daily attracting politically valuable people into our fold. We are ready and will deliver more than triple of the votes we got in the 2023 presidential election.”Abbas said.
He said that the NNPP was roundly defeated in 2019 and narrowly escaped in 2023 based on the votes’ statistics in spite of having a presidential candidate from the state and would be defeated by the APC in 2027 again.(https://newsatlarge.ng)
