APC Akwa Ibom stakeholders protest allege imposition of a mole
Agency report
Some stakeholders of Akwa Ibom All Progressives Congress (APC) has protested against a possible imposition and takeover of the party`s governorship ticket in the state by an alleged mole.
Mr Ogbong Victor who led a group of protesters to the party`s national secretariat on Wednesday in Abuja, called on its leadership to investigate the development before it got out of hand.
According to him, an established and confirmed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sponsored mole is about to be imposed on Akwa Ibom APC members as their governorship candidate.
He said the mole was being sponsored by top members of the PDP in Akwa Ibom to pick the APC governorship ticket for the state.
“It is also part of their agreement that in the eventual circumstance of disqualification of the PDP candidate, the mole will carry on with the interest of the party stakeholders in the state,’’ Victor said.
He added the APC family in Akwa Ibom was in shock that the mole, a PDP screened and confirmed aspirant, could come over to the APC and be handed its governorship ticket.
“There is no doubt that there shall be serious dissatisfaction in the party and this maybe two costly for it, as no serious APC member in Akwa Ibom will trust it anymore.
“The APC national chairman and indeed the entire executive of the party must act and immediately,’’ he stressed.
Victor said the posters of the mole aspiring as governor in both the APC and PDP and his clearance as PDP 2023 governorship aspirant were already in the public space.
“So, we say no to that because we have evidences and we are submitting that for further justifications,’’ he maintained. (NAN)
