Breaking:Succour for Corps Members as FG increases their allowance
Correspondent Report
The Federal Government has approved the increment of Corps Members’ monthly allowance from #33,000 to N77,000 with effect from July 2024.
Mr Ekpo Nta, Chairman National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission announced this in a statement dated Sept. 25, 2024.
He said the decision to increase the allowance was in line with the enactment of the new National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024.
The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, had prior to this, paid an advocacy visit to Nta to solicit a robust welfare package for Corps Members.
The NYSC boss was thankful to the Federal Government for the timely gesture.
He expressed optimism that the gesture would bring succour to Corps Members and boost their morale and motivate them to do more in their service to their father land.
Most corps members who spoke with newsatlarge expressed happiness on the development, but said until they were actually paid the money, they would not believe it.(https: newsatlarge.ng)
