Tinubu’s administration ‘ll ensure good governance – Agara
Agency report
Mr Silas Agara, National Coordinator Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (TSGICC), says the administration of Sen. Bola Tinubu will strive hard to ensure good governance in the country.
Agara said this on Thursday in Abuja at a ceremony marking the dissolving of the council.
He said that the task of nation-building required collective collaboration of progress-minded Nigerians.
He said that the TSCICC was a strategic and novel grassroots-based campaign initiative conceived by Tinubu to drive grassroots-based campaigns with popular appeal for massive impact.
Agara lauded the President-elect for giving his team the platform and privilege to work for his eventual victory at the polls.
“We do not take the opportunity for granted, we shall live to cherish it forever,” he said.
He added that the dissolution of the TSGICC was coming after the APC dissolved its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) set up in September 2022 to spearhead its campaign for the presidential elections.
“The TSGICC was specifically set up shortly after the emergence of the PCC to complement it by driving the campaigns to the nooks and crannies of the country, especially in the grassroots.
“By this dissolution of the TSGICC, further execution of its plans, policies and programmes contained in its operational document is hereby dissolved,”Agara said.
He said the party’s leadership had reviewed the operations of the TSGICC and expressed satisfaction with its numerous accomplishments.
This, he said, included its dogged door-to-door campaigns by its directorates, departments, support groups, members and millions of its foot soldiers across the country which gave Tinubu the President-elect victory at the polls.
He thanked members of the council, saying its assignment was successfully conducted with ruthless efficiency because of their commitment.
He added that members of the council worked selflessly and assiduously in the face of life-threatening odds before, during and after the elections.
“Let me seize this opportunity to give assurance that your efforts are well appreciated by the President-elect.
“I therefore urge you to continue to keep hope alive in line with his campaign manifesto and mantra of Renewed Hope,” he said.
Agara said he was convinced that the incoming Tinubu administration was a divine gift to all Nigerians.
“I am certain that his government will raise the bar of good governance to deliver the greatest good to the greatest number of the Nigerian people.
“This will be done in a manner capable of meeting the genuine yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians, irrespective of race, creed, region, religion and political affiliation,” he said.
He said the council kick-started the campaign in 2022 pounding the grassroots and countryside with uncommon drive, devotion and determination, brushing aside challenges on its way.
He added that the council engaged Nigerians, urging them to invest their hopes and destinies in the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket.
“They listened to us, believed us, and decided to give us their votes. Today, I assure them that they will not regret doing so.
“Our incoming government is the Nigerian peoples’ government in which we all have a stake.
“The President-elect has already said he heard them loud and clear, particularly the youth, the future hope of our nation.
“Together, we fought a good fight, we have finished the race, we have kept the faith. We will continue to keep hope alive, the President-elect knows what to do from there,” Agara said.
He said that Tinubu was back in the country, fully refreshed and burning with energy, ahead of the May 29 handover date. (https://newsatlarge.ng)
