Ondo State Poll:APC Stakeholder sues for peace during primary election

Mr Ogunleye Idowu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appealed to the party’s stakeholders in the Ondo State to ensure peace during Saturday’s governorship primary election.
He made the appeal on Friday in Abuja while speaking with newsmen, saying peace was critical to the governance and development of the state.
Newsatlarge reports that Idowu was a former candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Akoko North-East and North-West Federal Constituency.
“We want peace, we want the primary election to be smooth and for Gov. Lucky Ayedatiwa, the state’s incumbent governor to be returned as the party’s candidate at the primary.
“All the stakeholders in the primary election, the party’s leadership and President Bola Tinubu should please make this happen.
“Other contestants should give him a chance to continue where late Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu stopped,” Idowu said, adding that Ayedatiwa should be given the right of first refusal as the state’s incumbent governor.
He said it was in the interest of the state that Ayedatiwa continued as its governor because he had been there as deputy to late Gov. Akeredolu and now the incumbent governor.
He said Ayedatiwa therefore, had the required experience to move the state forward in terms of governance and development.
He added that the state at the moment, needed continuity, saying that posterity brought Ayedatiwa to power and should be allowed to continue in office.
“I am saying this on behalf of my people from the Northern and Southern part of the state that he should be allowed the right of first refusal as the state’s incumbent governor.
“If any of those in the governorship race are in his position, they would desire same and would want to continue in office.
“I beg everyone involved, stakeholders, contestants, the party’s leadership and President Bola Tinubu to please give him a chance.I know that there are a lot of contesting interest
“But as a supporter of peace and progress, I want to say that the state deserve continuity, Ayedatiwa should be allowed to continue in the next election year, ” Idowu said.
