APC Support Group to hold symposium to discuss party’s leadership, national issues

The National Progressives Hub (NPH), an All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, says it has fixed Aug. 13 for a symposium to discuss party leadership challenges and burning national issues.

The NPH National Coordinator, Ms Bukky Okangbe, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, adding that the symposium would be used to brainstorm on ways forward on burning national issues.

“It will bring to the fore  leadership challenges encountered by various political parties in the country with a view to proffering solutions that will further strengthen party administration, deepen democracy and democratic ethos,” she said.

She added that the symposium would bring together serving and past governors and members of the National Assembly to be led by the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau and cabinet members among others.

Okangbe added that the symposium would also be used to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje as APC National Chairman and Sen. Ajibola Basiru, its National Secretary.

“The Dean of School of Postgraduate Studies, Baze University, Abuja and political commentator, Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi will be presenting a keynote address titled ‘Political Party Leadership in Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects’ at the event.

“Former Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON) Mr Osita Okechukwu, former APC National Secretary Waziri Bulama and Alphonsus Ogar, Secretary of the Forum of APC State Chairmen are to discuss the paper at the event.

“The Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Jibrin Barau will be the Chairman of the occasion.

“And the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje is the Chief Host of the event, while coordinating State Governors and top party leaders will deliver key-note address,” she said.(https://newsatlarge.ng)
