APC explains why it rescheduled its nationwide State Congresses to Oct. 16
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has explained that it rescheduled its nationwide State Congresses to Oct. 16 to allow its members participate in the country’s Independence celebration coming up on Oct 1.
Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) gave the explanation in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Newsatlarge reports that the APC had initially fixed its State Congresses for Oct. 2.
“The need to honor the country’s 61st Independence anniversary, which holds a day before the initial date fixed for the State Congresses, informed the new date,” he said.
He added that this was especially because governors, ministers, and party members would be involved in the Independence day celebrations in their various states.
The APC scribe had earlier said that the timetable and schedule of activities for the State Congresses would be made public at a later date.(https://newsatlarge.ng)
