2027: Take political participation beyond social media, APC chairman counsels youths
Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman has charged youths to take their political participation beyond the social media.
He gave the charge on Thursday in Abuja, when some members of the Forum of Formal National Youth Leaders of All Political Party’s in Nigeria visited him at the party’s national Secretariat.
Yelwalta, while assuring that the APC would win the 2027 general elections convincingly, said youths must make themselves relevant in elections, adding that their impacts must be felt at the various polling units.
He said that the APC believed in youths, because they were the pillars of successful political parties, adding that their participation to APC’s victory in election would determine their inclusion in government.
“Youths are the pillar of political parties. We will not only win, but we will win convincingly in 2027 elections. This is the assurance I will give to you.
“President Bola Tinubu started politics as a youth, the reason he is so entrenched, we will make sure that youths have a place in government,”he said.
Mr Godson Dickson, the forum’s National Coordinator, while speaking with newsmen after the meeting, said the forum would mobilise ten million youths to vote for the APC in 2027.
Dickson added that the forum was committed to ensuring the electoral victory of the APC in 2027.
“We are here to pledge our support and loyalty to the APC and President Tinubu’s administration and to let the party’s national leadership know that this body is ready to work with the party.
“I believe this body is the strongest when you talk about politics because it is a body of youths that cut across all the wards and boots,”he said.
Dickson described youths as the engine house of politics, not just in Nigeria, but across the world, adding that the forum was ready to work with youths to ensure a better society for all Nigerians.
He said that constructive criticism from opposition political parties was critical because it would help government to put in more efforts where it was considered as not doing enough.
“We are ready to galvanise and reach out to the grassroots ahead of 2027 general election to ensure electoral victory for APC,”he said.
Members of the forum at the APC national secretariate include: Lado Suleja, Deputy National Coordinator, Sobande Sesan, Director Media and Publicity, Bosun Oladele, Abubakar Sadiq, Director Planning and Strategy and Dr Terver Aginde.
Others are Chijioke Ikpo, National Legal Adviser, Abdulrahman Baffa Yola, National Secretary and Abubakar Tijjani Wowo.(https:newsatlarge.ng)
